Patience is a qualified 200hr Yoga Instructor and Vocal Coach. Her yoga journey started in 2011, when she was looking for a way to exercise in a non-competitive environment. Having spent her early-mid twenties living in Europe and working in the music industry in London, Patience has continued to practice yoga as a means of self care; for its ability to energise the body, release excess tension and quiet the mind - even when living in a busy city environment.
Her goal is to make yoga accessible to all. It’s not about flexibility, or whether you can touch your toes or make shapes - it’s about exploring your body and bringing a sense of calm to the mind. Patience teaches Beginner’s Yoga at the Waiheke Pilates Centre - incorporating elements of Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative yoga.
Her passion and enthusiasm for exploring the body, voice and mind - and her great interest in anatomy, injury rehab and movement - create an uplifting, supportive and mindful environment to explore yoga. She will be leading the Intro to Yoga workshop later in January, and is available for 1-on-1 private sessions.
In her spare time, Patience enjoys singing, performing with her Neo-Soul Jazz duo, Kawakawa, spending time with her family and being in the ocean.
